Porcelain tile is an extremely durable flooring option and requires very little care. It is one of the easiest surfaces to keep clean and looking beautiful for years to come. It is an extremely hard material that is impervious to water and staining. Porcelain tile in most cases can be washed less frequently than other common household flooring options than receive the same amount of traffic or soiling. It can be neglected for long periods of time but a little “elbow grease” and a thorough washing will bring it back to its original appearance.

Follow these tips to clean your Porcelain tile and help maintain its every day beauty:

  1. Dust mop. Dust mop your porcelain tiles with a mop suitable for your size of flooring area. In between dustings, it is important to vacuum the mop head to avoid build up of dust and debris. Also we encourage using a dust mop that allows you to remove the mop head so you can launder it regularly.
  2. Damp Mop. Damp mop the entire area using a zero residue neutral cleaner.
  3. Use protection for prevention. Use protective materials (like felt pads) on all furniture and home décor items, and place floor mats both inside and outside the entrances to lessen the amount of dirt being tracked in.
  4. Avoid too much water. Porcelain tile itself is impervious to water but water and other liquids left unattended to can be damaging to the grout. It can cause the grout to deteriorate.
  5. Hold off on the wax. Porcelain tile never needs to be waxed or polished. Doing so can build up dust and debris on the surface.

Enjoy your beautiful Porcelain tile for years to come.
